Crash Diet. Get Fatter

I just weighed in at 159lbs. Down 8lbs in 2 weeks 🤩

DO NOT GET DISCOURAGED IF YOU ARE NOT EXPERIENCING THE SAME!

⤵️⤵️Let me explain something⤵️⤵️

🤔Did you know your body likes to stay the same? Of course you do! That’s why its hard to lose weight, doi. 👌

Example: I was just doing a muscle building trainer which required a SURPLUS of calories, causing WEIGHT GAIN (🤞of muscle 💪) over 8 weeks. I topped out at 167lbs on that, which is not my “normal” (~155lbs).

Sooooo…..as soon as I started cutting calories, my body is all to happy to return to “normal”. Causing me to lose weight a little more rapidly than usual*.😎

Now, this means that the next 8lbs are definitely not going to go without more of a fight. BUT! It is possible.

😔Bad News: this is part of the reason why it is extremely hard to lose weight (along with behavior habits, environment, and being a woman in general) and why we tend to gain quickly after coming off an extreme diet.**

😁Good News: It is possible to reset our “normal”. It takes about 12 weeks of maintaining a certain weight to do that. That’s why lifestyle changes you can adhere to and patience to lose is preached on 🙌.

*Consuming adequate protein helps keep muscle mass when in a caloric deficit to help amplify fat loss.🥩🍳

** this is also why I recommend tracking macros/calories when serious about fat loss. When adding activity in an attempt to create a calorie deficit, our appetite increases to help maintain “normal”. Tracking helps ensure a deficit 😊
