Here are my Top 4 Reasons why you simply, can’t lose weight. Or so you think.

This one might hurt a bit….

Top 4 reasons you aren’t getting the results you want:

1) You’re behaving like a moron

Calories in vs calories out, right?
➡️

⬅️
So, logically I’m going to eat like that chick from The Devil Wears Prada
😈

👠
(Starve until I feel like I’m going to pass out and then eat a cube of cheese) and spend hours on the elliptical— or at least until it says I burnt 1,000 calories.
🔥
Ladies, DO NOT EVEN ACT LIKE YOU’VE NEVER DONE THIS. Crazy thing is, we still do it knowing its moronic and torturous as hell.
😥

😥

Or, I love this one, “Starting Monday, no more junk. I’m going to do a detox and stick to it this time”
🤣

🤣

🤣

🤣
What I hear is It will only last Monday and I will
💩

💩
my pants all day. Good luck.

Yes, be active! Run, elliptical, stair climb, dance, do all those things for the GOOD of your body.

🏋️‍♀️

🚴‍♀️
NOT as punishment for eating food. ALSO, in case you have been living under a rock or hate facts, it’s time to get on the resistance training train (should I have made that a pun? I’m only 2 coffees in this morning writing this, I cant figure it out just yet).
💪
If you don’t use it you lose it! Use your muscles, I promise you won’t get all manly.
🙅‍♀️
You may feel a rise in confidence, ability to carry your own shit, and see what other things you can lift up, but those side affects are pretty friggin awesome if you ask me.
🤩

AND FOR GOODNESS SAKES: Fuel. Your. Body!

Give it nutrients. Hey, remember when your mom told you to eat your vegetables, yeah, do that. Also, meat has essential nutrients you need, keeps you fuller longer, and protein has a real hard time being stored as fat.
🥦

🌶

🥑

🥩
Eat those good things. Not sure why meals like that got reserved for only fancy times, but you can have that every day, dear. Dont forget: fruit bears nutrients too!
🍓

🍌

🍎
I CRINGE
😣
that I used to warn against eating fruit because of sugar content, but fructose digests different and actually helps improve metabolism. Don’t be a moron and avoid fruit because sugar/carbs
🙀
Enjoy the sweet treat and revel that you are also getting a great source of vitamins and minerals.

2) You’re a liar

Sorry, not sorry.

How many times have you heard somebody say they are starving and haven’t eaten anything all day
🙄
I’m sorry, Judeth, but did you forget about that bagel with the specialty coffee you had? Or the office candy jar you picked at? Or that NutriGrain bar you had in your purse? Oh, yeah, that’s not real food (but still 1500+ calories), you better hit up that convenient drive thru for a sandwich and some fries. Don’t want you going into starvation mode, you just need to eat something! (Total daily calorie consumption 3,000 calories) This also could have been filed under behaving like a moron, but the point is still there.
👌

Or the instances where I work with a client and they report a perfectly logged week, hitting all the macros and calorie goals.
📝
But the measurements say differently.
🤰
WTH? Oh yeah, she forgot to log the left over chicken nuggets from her kids plate (+200 calories), or the dessert she had before bed (+500 calories), the handful of almonds every 4 hours–those are Whole30 approved and healthy, right? No need to track (+800 calories).

Lying to yourself has some major consequences.

Not only is it frustrating because you feel like you should be making progress, but you may start thinking you have something medically wrong with you. When all it is is that you are lying to yourself!

I’ve spoken to so many women who think they may have X deficiency, or are Y resistant, or their hormones are wacky, or even go as far to self diagnose IBS or gluten/dairy/name your ingredient allergies (Thanks, internet) AHHHHCK! NO, MA’AM. YOU EAT LIKE SHIT AND REFUSE TO BELIEVE IT.
🤦‍♀️

🤦‍♀️

🤦‍♀️

Quit lying to yourself.

3) Your eyes are bigger than your measuring spoon.

This goes hand in hand with #2. But it’s so important I had to hit on it twice.

Have you ever actually dolled out 2 tablespoons of peanut butter. Yeah me neither, but I still log it as 1 serving
😉
.

Quit lying.

4) You listen to “They” when it comes to nutrition and fitness advice.

Who are these THEY and will they quit doling out the world’s crappiest advice on how to live?!
🧟‍♀️

🧟‍♀️

“They say diet pop is worse for you”
“They say lifting weights makes you huge”
“They say milk has antibiotics and causes inflammation”
“They say keto is the only way to lose fat”
“They say sugar is as addictive as cocaine”
“They say coconut oil is better for you”
“They say eating GMOs causes cancer…..here smoke this blunt”
🚬

If you ever hear something like this come out of your mouth, you better know who THEY is. And have hard evidence to back it up. Do not be part of the problem and spread faulty advice.
💫

USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN TAKING LIFESTYLE ADVICE FROM:

-flippant comments ( the “they say” ones)
📺

– scare tactics: using words like chemicals, inflammation, GMO, processed, etc. (Especially when trying to get you to pay more for something)
👹

– Anybody trying to sell you something (advocare, Herbalife, oils, supplement ads, InstaGurus)
💰

-blogs (even mine, I’m fallible and can be wrong sometimes)
💻

Marketing is a major tool used in the Fitness and Nutrition Industry. Try to strip that away and use common sense when it comes to achieving your goals.
