A good motto to live by.
I like things simple. That is how I eat and how I train.
I also hate spending money. So my nutritional advice will not drive up your grocery bill. It should actually help save!
The simplest way I have found to eat and train is through meal prepping (because I also hate to cook) and tracking macronutrients (carbohydrates, protein, and fat). When I make time for the gym, I like to get the most out of the time by concentrating on conditioning muscle rather than losing weight. Through these methods/mindsets, I am focused on what I can eat and what I can lift, opposed to eliminating whole food groups and being stuck on a cardio machine. It’s amazing what a positive mindset can do for you!
Handy tools to have in order to stay on track:
- MyFitnessPal,
- Kitchen Scale
- A PLAN!!

MyFitnessPal is a free app to download and makes it extremely easy to track nutrients. The pie chart feature is my favorite to make sure my diet stays balanced.

A kitchen scale may cost you, but if done right can be an attractive addition to the counter top! I opted for an old fashioned looking scale to go with my farmhouse style. I guess you could choose the drug dealer digital design, if you want….
Having a detailed plan may be the most important part! You know this, but it can be the hardest as well. I’ll tell you what definitely does NOT work:
- When you find time–haha never.
- General goals like being tone, and healthy. Good ones, but what does that mean?? How do you get there?
- Continuing doing what you’re doing and expecting different results.
That’s why I am creating this website and blog. I know what it is like. I’ve been there. I’ve tried it. I’m still crafting it. And most of all–IF I CAN DO IT, ANYONE CAN DO IT. I’m not special. I’m average, remember?
